What is the typical turnaround time to have a radio  repaired?

Typically within 24-48 hours after the unit is received at our facility.

Does a repaired radio come with any warranty?

A

Refurbished units come with a 12 month/Unlimited Mileage warranty on the entire radio. Repaired units have a 12 month/Unlimited Mileage warranty on the repaired problem only.

Can I purchase repair parts from Specmo to do my own repairs?

A

Yes, in some instances but we do need the parts numbers. Please call for additional information on part purchases and availability.

What is the average cost to repair a radio?

A

Prices vary according to model and features, so it is difficult to answer this without knowing the specific radio or cluster you have. It can be as little as $99 plus parts for a basic radio and considerably more for a Navigation Unit.

Can I drop off or pick-up my radio at your facility in Madison Heights, Michigan?

A

Yes, you can. We have many customers who bring in their units to us who live in the Detroit metro area. We are open for drop-off and pick-ups Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  (we are closed on major holidays).

How will I know that you received my radio that is to be repaired?

A

You can always track your shipment with the carrier you chose via their own tracking number  system. You are always welcome to call us anytime to check on the status of your repair.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes, we ship to many countries around the world.

Can I get a core credit if it has been decided that I need to purchase a new radio?

A

Sorry, but no we don’t provide core credits.  We will be happy to return your unrepaired unit if desired.

If I send in my cluster for repair or refurbishing, what will the mileage be set to?

A

If the mileage is stored in the vehicle, the cluster does not require a mileage set as it “learns” the mileage from the vehicle once you plug the unit into the car.  For units where the mileage is stored in the cluster, you will receive a unit back with exactly the same miles as the cluster that was sent to us.

Can you repair clusters that are in kilometers?
