Our business philosophy is to focus on the end customer (vehicle owner) and the dealer network that supports them. After over 50 years of business, we have never forgotten our origins and how the business evolved, taking none of our successes for granted.
Our corporate headquarters and electronics technical center are located in Madison Heights Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. With over 64,000 square feet, this modern facility houses our wholesale and retail operations whose primary function is providing service to auto dealerships participating in instrument cluster and radio pre-exchange service programs. We also offer services to private sector jobbers and retail customers.
Hans G. Ritter founded our company in 1972. Hans was born, raised and educated in Germany. Upon moving to the U.S. he began working out of his home in Oak Park Michigan repairing motorcycle and marine speedometers and gauges. His small business grew steadily and was later incorporated under the name of "Specmo Enterprises".
We were one of the first ACDelco Warranty and Service and Exchanges Centers in the country and helped pioneer programs and facets of the process.
Over the years, Specmo gained a reputation as a pioneer and innovative leader in the automotive electronic instrumentation industry. We are one of the nation's oldest and largest service and exchange centers for GM electronic instrument clusters and radios and navigation modules.
We have continually expanded our capabilities beyond the GM family of vehicles, where we now provide electronic repair services to other OEM’s.

Being one of the largest General Motor’s refurbishment centers for Instrumentation and Displays as well as Audio Electronics can be a challenging job. With the constant changes in automotive electronics, we have to be able to react quickly to new technologies and processes.
